BACARDI Celebrates 10th Anniversary of Governors Ball Music Festival 2021 with Casa BACARDI & the BACARDI Stage

The BACARDÍ Stage saw performances from Young Thug, Portugal. The Man, Phoebe Bridgers, King Princess, Dominic Fike, and more, while CASA BACARDÍ treated festivalgoers to busker performances, a host of festival-inspired cocktails, boozy popsicles, and fun

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Governors Ball, BACARDÍ Rum once again brought the rum vibes to the Governors Ball Music Festival this year with CASA BACARDĺ and the BACARDĺ Stage in Queens, New York. Over the past three days, BACARDĺ threw the ultimate block party for festivalgoers within CASA BACARDÍ – an interactive and tropical experience that included programming like street dance performances, a bracelet making station, palm tree ring toss, and the Shakers Club, where the first 250 people in attendance would receive a wristband that monitors their movement. The more you moved, the bigger the prize you could unlock – redeemable only at the Shakers Club bar within CASA BACARDÍ.

In addition to the programming, the brand served up festival-inspired cocktails like the Gov Ball Punch, BACARDÍ Par-Tea, Frozen Pina Colada, and Mad Cola. For those looking for a refreshing treat in the space, CASA BACARDÍ also exclusively offered boozy BACARDÍ popsicles in three refreshing flavors – Mango Tango, Strawberry Daquiri, and Cup of Joe.

You can find day-by-day highlights from this past weekend’s Governors Ball festivities that took place at CASA BACARDÍ and on the BACARDÍ Stage below:

Day 1 – Friday, September 24

On the first day of the festival, artists like LOONY, 99 Neighbors and Sasha Alex Sloan kicked off performances at the BACARDÍ Stage in a big way, performing to a hyped crowd outside of Citi Field in Queens. Later that afternoon, rapper and producer duo Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist took the BACARDÍ Stage, playing hits like “Scottie Beam,” “1985,” and “Something to Rap About” – as Gibbs brought his daughter onstage during his set. CASA BACARDÍ was packed with festivalgoers trying to get their hands on specialty cocktails and boozy paletas – and even Mr. and Mrs. Met stopped by to get in on the festivities.

To close out the first day on the BACARDÍ Stage, Portland-based rock band Portugal. The Man amped up the crowd with hits like “Live in the Moment” and “Modern Jesus” – bringing out frontwoman, Julia Cumming of Brooklyn-based band Sunflower Bean to end the set with the band’s hit song, “Feel It Still.”

Day 2 – Saturday, September 25

Saturday proved to have another standout lineup of iconic performances on the BACARDÍ Stage with artists like Breland and A R I Z O N A kicking off the performances in the early afternoon to a packed crowd in the September heat. New York native King Princess took to the stage in the late afternoon, singing hit songs like “Talia,” “Holy,” and “1950.” Later that evening, Indie rock icon Phoebe Bridgers rounded out the day’s performances on the BACARDÍ Stage with crowd favorites like “Garden Song,” “Kyoto,” and “Motion Sickness.” Guests continued the party at CASA BACARDÍ well into the night, sipping on specialty rum cocktails like the Gov Ball Punch, Frozen Pina Colada, Mad Cola, and BACARDÍ Par-Tea until curfew.

Day 3 – Sunday, September 26

To close out an epic weekend of festivities, performances on the BACARDÍ Stage during the last day of Governors Ball included Dominic Fike and Young Thug. Fike took to the stage singing some of his most popular hits like “Why,” “Phone Numbers,” and “3 Nights.” Young Thug took to the stage much later in the day – and one hour late to his set time to be exact – rapping tracks like “Go Crazy,” “Solid,” and “Bad Boy” to an eager crowd.
