[16 APRIL 2020, LONDON, UK]: Bacardi, the world’s largest family-owned spirits company, has launched a partnership with Deliveroo Editions, allowing customers to order premium cocktails from top bars to their front door in as little as 30 minutes. The new delivery service is part of the Bacardi #RaiseYourSpirits initiative, helping UK bars and bartenders to generate income during the coronavirus crisis.
Available from Thursday 16 April at 5pm, this first-ever virtual bar from Deliveroo Editions sites gives cocktail lovers the chance to support their favourite local bars and bartenders while their doors are closed. A rotating menu of five professionally crafted cocktails, made using Bacardi brands and including a lower ABV option, will be available in each area. Customers will also be able to tap into fun online content, helping to make that cocktail moment even more special:
· BACARDÍ Rum cocktails encourage you to ‘do what moves you’ from virtual house parties to online dance classes at home, with cocktails like the Mr Rumtastic from Callooh Callay in hand
· BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Gin cocktails celebrate the creativity of bartenders around the UK, and gives consumers a canvas to stir their own creativity and learn about new ways to add a touch of creativity to their cocktails from the comfort of their own home. Featured this week are the Lychee Martini cocktail from Filthy 13 and the Mechanical Mixologist Negroni from Mr Fogg’s
· GREY GOOSE Vodka cocktails crafted with big and small celebrations in mind; from a virtual dinner party or toasting to a friend’s birthday with the Espresso Martini cocktail from Grind
· MARTINI Fiero celebrating the start of the weekend with #FieroFriday and offering a complimentary MARTINI Fiero & tonic with the first 50 cocktail orders on a Friday
· PATRÓN Tequila with its distinct and sophisticated profile that’s easily mixable with the Rosy Life cocktail from Artesian, delivering a taste of luxury to your front door
New bars and cocktails will be added every two weeks for the next two months, but first orders from Londoners will be taken for ten bars; Callooh Callay, Kitchen Cocktail, Artesian (Whitechapel and Bermondsey), Grind (Whitechapel and Bermondsey), The Proofing Room at Milroy’s, Kwant, Mr Foggs and a London-based bartender from Bristolian favourite, Filthy 13.
In Manchester, local bars; Science and Industry; Cultureplex; Cottonopollisy; as well as 2019 International Bartender of the Year winner, Joe Schofield; and a Manchester-based bartender from London’s Grind, are the first to serve up cocktails for the Bacardi ‘Cocktails At Home’ virtual bar.
To order, cocktail lovers in Bermondsey (London), Whitechapel (London) and across Manchester can simply follow these links or use their Deliveroo app to search for the ‘Cocktails At Home’ virtual bar.
One of the many bartenders who will be picking up their cocktail shakers for the ’Cocktails At Home’ virtual bar is Chris Tanner, who works at flagship cocktail bar The Proofing Room at Milroy’s in East London, he commented:
“The Bacardi ’Cocktails At Home’ virtual bar has given us a huge boost. Having a way to earn money, keep busy and be creative while doing what I love most is fantastic. The current situation is changing everything for the bartender community, but this kind of online platform is a huge opportunity for us to get back to doing what we love and showcase our cocktail creativity.”
“Our strong relationships with bars and bartenders are incredibly important to us, and as we face the current challenges together, we’re doing all we can to provide the support they need,” said Amanda Almond, Managing Director for Bacardi, UK & Ireland. “Through our partnership with Deliveroo Editions, anyone who loves great cocktails can enjoy them at home and at the same time help keep their local bars in business. It’s a win-win - #RaiseYourSpirits!”
The launch is part of the Bacardi #RaiseYourSpirits initiative, a plan to help UK bars and bartenders combat the coronavirus crisis. Bacardi is investing an initial £1.5 Million to ensure at a grassroots level, members of the bartender community across Western Europe receive the support they urgently need. When customers order through the virtual ‘Cocktails At Home’ bar on Deliveroo Editions they will be providing income for bars in their local area to support them through this difficult period.

About #RaiseYourSpirits
Bacardi has launched #RaiseYourSpirits, a multi-point plan to help bars & bartenders in the UK & Ireland combat the coronavirus crisis. The temporary closure of bars and restaurants has prompted the #RaiseYourSpirits initiative, backed by an initial £1.5 Million investment by Bacardi, which will ensure that at a grassroots level, members of the bartender community across Western Europe receive the support they urgently need. Whilst acknowledging that many governments are putting in place measures to help support industries, #RaiseYourSpirits will not only help bars and bartenders in the UK & Ireland through the crisis, it will ensure that they are stronger than ever when the industry reopens its doors.
Focusing on smaller, independent bars who have no corporate back-up but do have a fighting spirit, #RaiseYourSpirits recognizes that there is no single, magic solution. Instead Bacardi is taking the time to understand the particular needs of each of its bar industry partners and how it can best answer those needs through #RaiseYourSpirits.
In the UK & Ireland, the help offered by Bacardi’s #RaiseYourSpirits initiative includes:
Deliveroo partnership – With the launch of the first-ever virtual bar, in partnership with Deliveroo Editions, Bacardi is providing over 120 outlets and their bartenders with a platform to generate revenue from their cocktails. The ‘Cocktails At Home’ virtual bar kicks off in Deliveroo Editions kitchens in London and Manchester on April 16, enabling bars to deliver premium cocktails for their local customers to enjoy at home;Bartender support – Bacardi is hiring bartenders to host training events or to serve cocktails at events and pay their fees in advance. As an example, Bacardi is commissioning bartenders to film themselves making their favourite Bacardi cocktails and share them on social media so people at home can learn how to do it too; Other initiatives – Bacardi will also help support the industry through the buying of cocktail vouchers and prepaying for events held in bars.
Hand sanitizer production
In addition to its #RaiseYourSpirits initiative, Bacardi is helping to combat the spread of the coronavirus globally through the production of more than 1.5 million litres of hand sanitizers across 10 of its manufacturing sites. In the UK, the BOMBAY SAPPHIRE distillery in Hampshire is producing 2,000 litres per week, for donation to local doctors, chemists and care homes. Meanwhile, in Scotland, DEWAR’S Scotch Whisky has donated over 650 litres of hand sanitizer to local frontline services including the Scottish Ambulance Association.
