Rankin and BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Inspire with a Series of Portraits to Stir Creativity

Rankin joins the BOMBAY SAPPHIRE ‘Stir Creativity’ campaign to inspire creative self-expression in others

[London, UK – 23rd July 2018] – Today, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE® gin announces a collaboration with global creative icon Rankin as part of the brand’s mission to inspire creative self-expression around the world. Rankin will curate the ‘Stirred by Rankin’, a series of portraits designed to reveal the creative side of the person in front of the lens – as part of the BOMBAY SAPPHIRE ‘Stir Creativity’ campaign.

The ’Stirred by Rankin’ portraits will feature artists such as Erin O’Connor, Henri and Luke Edward Hall who appeared at the BOMBAY SAPPHIRE CANVAS event last week, as well as creative talent from across the creative industries, capturing their personal stories of creative self-expression on camera.

The partnership was launched at ‘CANVAS’ – the first of a series of events in London and Berlin, where BOMBAY SAPPHIRE is collaborating with a group of international artists to transform spaces into living works of art, using the floors, walls and furniture of the venue as their canvas.

Guests who attended the CANVAS events in London, and who will be joining in Berlin, can take part in a ‘Stirred by Rankin’ photo experience, sharing their own expressions of creativity in front of Rankin’s iconic Rankomat camera lens. The event will also offer guests the chance to explore the endless possibilities for creative personal twists on BOMBAY SAPPHIRE gin cocktails.

“Creativity comes in many different guises” said Rankin on the partnership, “and whatever roles we take on in life, it’s important to have a creative outlet and my portraits show how creativity is a fundamental part of all of us. I am excited to work collaboratively with BOMBAY SAPPHIRE and this group of international artists to create something truly unique.”

Speaking of her own experience, Erin O’Connor MBE commented: “Self-expression and the freedom to be individual are crucial to each of us fulfilling our creative potential. The ‘Stirred by Rankin series’ has been created as part of the BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Stir Creativity campaign and aims to capture a person’s creative side on camera. The resulting image series aims to inspire creativity in others. We all have the ability to be creative, and it is how we chose to manifest and associate with it, whether it be through art, fashion or music, which helps others understand our uniqueness.”

CANVAS London took place from 18th to 21st July in Shoreditch. Tickets were priced at £12 and as part of the global mission to Stir Creativity, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE is donating all ticket sales proceeds to the charity Developing Artists.

Throughout 2018, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE will work with dozens of emerging and established artists at CANVAS events across Europe, taking place in the UK (Manchester), Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France and Spain. BOMBAY SAPPHIRE is leading a global mission to ‘Stir Creativity’ – a call to arms for everyone to engage with their creativity and unlock their creative potential.
