One Week After Dropping Their New Single, Major Lazer Stun Crowds at Street Party

DJ Trio take to the streets on the first day of summer in the ultimate dance party, following the release of their new summer hit

Just one week after dropping their new collaboration with UK artist’s Rudimental and Anne-Marie, Major Lazer reunited to show the streets of Chicago exactly why they can be relied on delivering chart-topping summer tracks.

"Let Me Live" marks a return to Major Lazer’s roots in reggae music as the new summer hit is to be featured on the highly-awaited ‘Toast to Our Differences’ album, due for release on 7th September.

It has been a big few months for the Major Lazer crew since being named number 5 on Billboard’s 2018 Billboard Dance 100, and they’re not showing any signs of slowing down. Keeping fans on their toes, they took to the streets of Chicago to kick off the summer following the release of their new hit.

As the group transition to their dancehall and Caribbean roots they took to the vibrantly dressed streets as they headlined the Caribbean inspired street party, entertaining crowds until the early hours with some of their biggest hits, including, Spotify’s most streamed song of all time, “Lean On”, their nomination for Best Single Dance/Electro category at the NRJ Music Awards “Light it Up” and “Cold Water” which won Single of the Year at the Electronic Music Awards.

The group stunned fans at the open-air fiesta, which was complete with a traditional street market, organised to launch this summer’s Sound of Rum, the musical movement designed to encourage people around the globe to get up and move.

With the desire to motivate and inspire people to live expressively as their true selves and move – emotionally and physically – without judgement, The Sound of Rum is continuing the summer season with sights, sounds and sips through musically charged live events, exclusive new music, dance-inspired digital creative and refreshing cocktails.

The Sound of Rum, a collaborative and creative partnership between the world’s most awarded rum and the dynamic trio will inspire music and cocktail fans around the world to get up and move – an homage to the brand’s “Do What Moves You” campaign.
